The best mulch depends on your project! For general garden beds and slopes, Shredded Hardwood Bark Mulch is a great choice because its fibers interlock to stay in place. For a decorative look in pathways, Cedar or Pine Mulch/Nuggets are popular. If you are mulching a vegetable garden, simple Straw or untreated grass clippings work well, though they break down quickly.

We generally recommend mixing topsoil for volume and compost for an extra nutritional boost.

A cord is the standard, legally defined unit of measure for firewood. A full cord of wood must equal 128 cubic feet of neatly stacked wood. This is typically visualized as a stack 4 feet high by 4 feet wide by 8 feet long (4’ x 4’ x 8’), including the air space between the logs. Keep in mind that a face cord is a smaller amount, usually only one-third of a full cord.
