Who We Are
About Us
Back in 1980, the founder Dave Cooper at the age of 16 started a landscaping business under the name of D.C. Landscaping, Inc. They serviced all of DuPage County, both residential and local businesses, with full landscape services and snow removal.
In 1995, Dave purchased his first semi tractor and trailer with the vision of being able to expand his company into something greater. By 2002, Dave was taking on the task of managing 38 semi tractors, 82 trailers, and 45 full-time employees. He was in charge of one of the largest sand, gravel, and topsoil hauling companies in the Chicagoland area, along with his growing landscaping and snow removal business.
When 2005 came, Dave decided to sell his hauling company in order to focus his efforts on building his landscape material supply company. Landscape Material & Firewood Sales, Inc. currently operates and manufactures its material on three sites located in West Chicago, Carol Stream & Rockford, Illinois on a total of 26 acres.
Today, we offer a complete selection of Landscape Material, Landscape Lighting, Hardscapes, Pulverized Topsoil, Garden Mix, Compost, Mulch, Sand, Gravel, Landscape Supplies & Firewood.

Landscape Material & Firewood Sales began with one truck and a simple promise: do the job right. Over the years we’ve grown into a multi-site operation manufacturing and distributing topsoil, sand, gravel, mulch, compost, and stone across Chicagoland.
What hasn’t changed is how we work. We answer the phone, load fast, deliver when we say we will, and stand behind every yard we sell.
